Weird? Don’t know. The only time I was in Austin was 100 years ago. My family visited a relative and her dog bite me. Oh, it was really hot there also.

That sounds like a terrible visit to Austin! “Keep Austin Weird” is more of a South Austin (SoCo., Bouldin Creek, Travis Heights, ect.) thing. Our way of saying we know it’s different here and we like it that way. We like that instead of chain stores we have locally owned businesses and restaurants that thrive. Instead of generic looking houses we have unique homes that all look different and have their own character. A place where artists, educators, doctors, chefs live happily side by side in the same community. It’s a place where you can’t be surprised to see a man riding a horse down Congress Ave., musicians on street corners or that guy that rides his bicycle with nothing but a thong. In 78704 everyone’s welcome. It’s a weird place but a good place. Oh, and your right, it usually is really hot here!

It sounds like a nice place. No ladies riding bikes in thongs?

No such luck but, I will be sure to keep the camera handy. If it happens you will be the first one to know my friend!
