Here at Austin Vivid Photography we like taking a more unique approach to your engagement photos. We like to be in settings that actually reflects the two of you. I wanted to share this photograph, not because it’s a good photo (in fact there are a handful of things I could have done to improve it) but because it reminds me of a time and place where I captured it. It reminds me of being in the cramped back of a hotel in Jackson Hole while hanging with an amazing North Face photographer, Lucas Gilman, an inspirational photo editor for the National Geographic, Sadie Quarrier and a bunch of rad photographers that became friends. We were all going on way too little sleep, working our butts off and loving every minute of it.
It’s funny the way photos do that. They can take you back to a moment in an instant.

The 26th Annual Lone Star Vegetarian Chili Cook Off is back!
Like every year, I’m sure this one will not disappoint. From the music, games, friendly yet fierce cooking competitions to the amazing sampling of exotic chili’s, there’s something for everyone.
Aside from seeing how incredibly creative the chili teams were I really enjoyed meeting a lot of the local vendors and watching the cooking demos set up throughout the grounds.
Point being, if you’re into being around a bunch of great people and great food, I strongly urge you get out the the 26th Vegetarian Cook Off.
I love this time of day! Dawn makes me feel like I have the whole world to myself. There’s the whole day to look forward to along with the unexpected moments yet to be discovered. Not to mention, the light is usually amazing for photographing the quiet moments of how you begin your day.
